Dr. Jeff Baldwin Joins Beryllium InfoSec as CISO

The team at Beryllium InfoSec is excited to announce the newest member of the team, Jeff Baldwin, D.Sc. Jeff will serve as Beryllium’s Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and joins the leadership team, bringing his impressive industry experience and thought leadership to Beryllium’s products and services, specifically Cuick Trac, as the company continues to grow.

Jeff is a cybersecurity executive with an extensive background in both information security and education. As a senior information systems security engineer, Jeff has 18+ years of cybersecurity experience, ranging from hands-on experience with a variety of frameworks such as the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Risk Management Framework (RMF), DIACAP, NISPOM, DCID 6/3, and NISCAP.

Having assessed over 150 systems as a Security Control Assessor as an Information Systems Security Engineer, Jeff has helped over 100 government information systems achieve Authority to Operate (ATO) in cloud, hybrid, and traditional on-premise configurations, as well as specialized embedded mission systems. As part of the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) ecosystem, Jeff was one of the first 20 people to achieve both CMMC Provisional Instructor and Provisional Assessor status, and had the privilege of being an instructor for the second ever offered CCP course.

Jeff’s teaching experience includes over 14 years of IT and IT Security courses at two nationally accredited state universities. Currently, he is an AWS Academy Accredited Educator. He is also a former Official (ISC)2 Instructor for the CISSP and ISSEP certifications. Besides his work experience with companies such as Tsymmetry, Leidos, L3Harris Technologies, GDIT, DigiFlight, and Battelle, Jeff has served as volunteer President and Chairman for (ISC)2 Baltimore Chapter, and Vice President of Education for ISSA-NOVA.

Jeff earned a Doctor of Science in Cybersecurity and a Master of Science in Information Assurance from Capitol Technology University. He also earned a Bachelor of Technology in Information Technology: Network Administration with a minor in Application Software Development from SUNY College of Technology at Alfred. His relevant industry certifications include CISSP, ISSEP, ISSAP, CCSP, CISM, CISA, PMP, CSM, Cloud+ and CySA+.

As the CISO for Beryllium InfoSec, Jeff and the Beryllium team will continue to serve the Defense Industrial Base (DIB) with solutions and outcomes that are affordable, practical and secure. Beryllium’s Cuick Trac solution, which is a fully managed and pre-configured virtual enclave for sending, storing and processing sensitive data like Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), Covered Defense Information (CDI) and Covered Technical Information (CTI), has established itself as one of the top solutions that focuses on small-to-medium size businesses. Jeff’s thought leadership and vision will allow Cuick Trac (and other Beryllium offerings), to grow and adjust as threats to the DIB continue to evolve.

As the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) continues to take shape and become an official rule and requirement in Government contracts, Jeff’s experience with building and maintaining compliance programs will be extremely valuable, and our customers will reap the benefits.

Welcome to the team, Jeff!
